| Abstract | ||
| The goal of the present research is to identify the pros and cons of the mathematics questions in the public examinations of the third intermediate class. It also aims at knowing the quality and value of the questions, how much the examiners have considered Bloom's knowledge levels and the standard of knowledge operations in putting them, how much they achieved the standards of the quality of questions and their coverage of the contents of the math curriculum. In order to achieve that, the researcher has chosen the method of analyzing the questions that was done by setting the primary lists that contain the standards of analyzing the specified exam questions. Each list contained sunfields for each standard as a basis for the analysis. The primary form of the method was presented to a group of experts in order to know its validity and relation to the goals of the research. Later on, the tabled analysis lists were set to record each questions, the level it measures, and the standard it aims at. The stability of the analysis was confirmed by checking the agreement modulus. Then the statistics operations were conducted by calculating the repetition and percentage. The results have shown the following: 1. The (ministry) public exam questions have focused on Bloom's least levels of knowledge, particularly application level, comprehension level and then on remembrance. The percentage of the construction and analysis levels were weak, while it was zero for the evaluation level. 2. The questions focused on solving the exercises on the cost of the other operations. 3. The questions covered all the book chapters with variable percentages in the number of questions. 4. Most of the questions were essay questions whereby the objective questions were very little or not found at all. | ||
