This study was carried out at local breeding and improvement of broiler station during 2/7/ 2002 to 19/8/2002 to investigate the effects of two different level of protein and different level and sources of calcium , on antibody levels Gumboro disease and Caracas cuts weight of broilers.
Eight hundred one day old broiler chicks were used in this experiment, the experiment were lasted to 49 days and the experiment divided to 8 treatments. Eight ration were used represented 8 treatments, 1,5 treatments, the birds received a diet contain 20% protein and 1% Calcium , 3,7 treatments the birds received a diet contain 20% protein, 2% calcium, 2,6 treatments the birds received 23% protein , 1% calcium , 4,8 treatments the birds received 23% protein , 2% calcium and source of calcium, Dicalcium phosphate and calcium carbonate.
The study included measurement of the volume titer of Gumboro antibody in the serum by Elias test. Dressing percentage and the percentage of internal organ, liver, gizzard, heart, spleen, pancreas, abdominal fat and Percentage of Caracas cut to body weight and mortality percentage.
The results revealed that there were a significant increase in gumboro antibody in the serum of birds fed different level of protein 20, 23% at 21, 24 day of age towards 23% protein and Calcium 1, 2% at 28, 42 day towards 2% calcium and source of Calcium at 14, 28, 28 day except 21 days toward dicalcium phosphate.
Also there were a significant interaction between treatments but there were a not significant difference in some internal organ. Which total mortality percentage increased toward 20% protein and 2% Calcium.
The study concluded that there were important effects of protein, Calcium, and its interaction in diet on physiological and productive characters. |
