| Abstract | ||
| This study was conducted at the poultry farm , Department of Animal Resources to investigate the effect of extending the marketing age of broilers to 12 ,14 and 16 weeks and its effect on some characteristics of carcasses . Birds of each treatment were slaughtered to estimate the weight of hot and cold carcasses, dressing percentage, meat yield percentage , meat to bone ratio , relative weight of the carcass cuts and their measurements . The results indicated a significant (P<0.01) improvement in the average of weight of the carcasses (hot and cold), dressing percentage, weight and percentage of the carcass main and secondary cuts, length of body carcass, circumambient of breast and thigh, flier repletion of body and breast, long of bones when age increased .The economical feasibility of broilers project shows that the kilogram weight gain have a high average earned profit. The result indicated that ,rearing broiler to 8,12,14,and 16 week were the best for live performance | ||
