Effect of supplementing glucose to drinking water and fasting during heat stress of male broilers (Fawbro) on feed and water consumption pattern for four periods during 24 hours a day, first period from (600-1200) h , second period from ( 1200-1800) h , third period from (1800-2400) h ,forth period (2400-600)h ,growth rate, dressing and mortality percentage ,and glucose consumption were studied .
At 4-8 weeks of age the broiler exposed to cyclic temperature 25-35-25 ◦C and relative humidity 52-60% . Five treatments were carried out as follows : treatment one control (CON) ( without glucose supplementation and fasting ), treatment two (F) fasting only, treatments three (FG3), four(FG3) , five (FG7), glucose supplementation to drinking water at levels 3,5,7 % respectively with fasting . whereas fasting was done for six hours at (1200-1800) h and concomitant with highest environmental temperature 35 ◦C and glucose was given to broiler with drinking water during fasting period only .
The results revealed that : feed consumption pattern for all glucose supplementation treatments reduced during the cold period (600-2400) h of the day compared with F,CON treatments at six week of age while at eight weeks of age feed consumption increased significantly for all glucose supplementation treatments at (1800-2400) h compared with CON .Total feed consumption during 24 h reduced of all treatments compared with CON,F (6,8 weeks of age) . Water consumption pattern revealed a significant decrease in glucose supplementation treatments compared with CON in hot period of the day (1200-1800)h at six week . Also growth rate increased in glucose supplementation treatments . Meanwhile the lowest glucose consumption that dissolved in drinking water in FG3 while the highest in FG7 . Also mortality percentage reduced in all glucose supplementation treatments compared with (CON) .
The study confirmed that there were an important effects of supplementing glucose to drinking water during fasting on feed and water consumption pattern and other character. |
