Abstract
Semi –Purified bacterial antigens were extracted from pathogenic Ecoli Strain that isolated from heart blood chicken infection with airsaculitis and pericarditis. The antigens were prepared as water – oil – emulsion, and its efficacy to protect chickens against E.coli infection has been studied. Thirty ISA white broilers breeder were inoculated with two doses of the antigens for 30 days interval. Agar – gel precipitation test was used for detection of immunological response in inoculated chickens and maternal immunity in egg yolk and chicks (one day olds). At 60 day post second dose, the chicks have been hatched from inoculated and un inoculated (control) hens. All hatched chicks were challenged with virulent E.coli at one day of age. Clinical signs and mortality was recorded for 6 days. Results showed that a good immune response was detected in stimulate immune system spicily after post second inoculation of extract antigen .Also the maternal immunity was detected in their progeny. Results of challenge test revealed that a good protection was obtained from those chicks hatched from inoculated hens; on the other hand the mortality was 85% in chicks hatched from un inoculated control hens. This study showed the possibility of using antigens to immunize broilers breeder to protect their progeny against infection by this bacteria.
