| Abstract | ||
| This experiment was conducted at the poultry farm of Animal Resource Department / College of Agriculture / University of Baghdad to investigate the effect of quantitative feed restriction at early age on production performance and some characteristics of broilers carcasses . A total of 400 , day old, Ross broiler chicks , randomly distributed into 4 treatments , T1 the control , T2 giving feed 6gm / brid / day , T3 giving feed 12gm / bird / day , T4 giving feed 18gm / bird / day, during the age period 7 -14 days. Results showed that there were a high significant difference ( p < 0.01) in which T4 gave the highest final body weight , a high significant (P < 0.01) at restriction treatments in weekly gain weight after restricted period , dressing percentage, main carcass cuts , and decreased significantly (P < 0.05) in mortality rate for ascites, sudden death syndrome disease for first 4 weeks of age , and significant (p < 0.01) decrease in abdominal fat . There were no significant differences in feed conversion efficiency among all treatments in the end of experiment. It can be concluded that quantitative feed restriction treatments in this experiment had better performance and some carcass characteristics. | ||
