Abstract
The concept of virtual learning and virtual school has appeared during the nineties of the last century . Virtual learning can be defined as that kind of learning which depends on electronic techniques to connect the teacher with the learner . Some Arab Gulf states have taken primary steps to adopt such new learning programmes encouraged by the findings of identical experiments successfully applied in the west.
The research endeavors to study the possibility of adopting virtual learning in the educational process in Iraq. Basrah Governorate was selected to apply an experiment to teach English language through computer.
