Abstract
This experiment was carried out to study The effect of magnetized water and Salicylic acid (SA) on vegetative &flowering characters of Callistephus chinensis L. The experiment was designed as factorial experiment with two factors, the first was the type of irrigation water(normal or magnetized water), the second factor was spraying plants with SA at four concentrations (0,5,10,20)mg/L, according to Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three replications, the experimental unit contained five plants, the means were compared according L.S.D test at 0.05.
Results revealed that plants irrigated with magnetized water gave significant increase in vegetative growth including plant height, number of branches/plant, leaf area and the leaf content of chlorophyll recording 39.02 cm, 20.74, 712.2cm2 & 123.44mg.100gm-1Freash weight respectively. An increase in flowering growth characters including flower pedicles, number of flowers per plant, the dry weight of flowers & flowering date. Results were:32.70 cm, 20.32, 0.84g, respectively, while flowering date was delayed.
Plants that treated with SA showed asignificant increase in vegetative parameters, such as plant height, number of branches/ plant, leaf area and the leaf content of chlorophyll :38.65 cm,20.86, 589.1cm2 and 107.09 mg.100gm-1freash weight respectively. |
