| Abstract | ||
| This research aims to provide some enlightenment on a certain period of our Islamic – Arab history. A period that has been forgotten or neglected purposely by scholars and researchers for the so-called reason that it is "The Dark Age" in Arabic literature, and so being unworthy of study and research. The research attempts to tackle the literary efforts of the Ghulamy family of the city of Mosul. This family played an important and extremely active role in turning the wheels of knowledge and literature in Mosul and bringing them back on their feet during the time of local government, when Mosul was governed by Al-Jalily family whom also had a great hand in bringing Arabian knowledge and education back into existence. This was after a period where the foreign nations which occupied the Arab-Muslim world tried to put down education, knowledge and research. The research is presented in two parts. The first part deals with the life of Al-Sheikh Mustafa Afandi Al-Ghulamy, and the second part tackles the life of Al-Haj Hussein Afandi Al-Ghulamy. | ||
