Abstract
In spite of the efforts of our educational institutions , and quantitative and qualitative changes that happened to them , their programs , activities , and methods are unable to teach and develop treatment methods with time and who organizing life priorities , Today many of university students are apathetic to the importance of time they spend in unnecessary behaviors and activities in daily life , There are several negative behavioral aspects due to the time spending and malorganization , one of them is procrastination that becomes common today , Some people may fail in completing their projects because of their avoidance to perform tasks or the personal fears of failure , or because of the individual suspicion of in investigating his personal abilities , Many people infect with postponement phenomenon which is the intentional delay in starting or ending task to the extent he feels self discomfort , The person who postpones his deeds is the person who knows what he wants , and has inclination to perform these planned tasks but he postpones its performing or he doesn't completing them in deadline . There is no doubt that each individual has on aim and this aim requires continuous job and striving to achieve it . But individuals differs from each others in the aim performing and completion ways, some try to perform it immediately others slow down and postpone achieving it till the last possible minute , and this is what so called procrastination . One of the factors that might influence the procrastination is the conscientiousness, one of the hypotheses of five big factors theory in personality indicated that the individuals who tap low scores in self control (one of the field of conscientiousness) Procrastinate in starting the systematic jobs and it is easy to frustrate them ,They are eager to and this work , The conscientiousness is a predictor of organizing degree , perseverance , control , motivation in individual behavior , Individual with high conscientiousness tend to be organized , trusting , working seriously , self oriented , punctual , adhering to formalities , suspicious , ambitious , persevering while those with low conscientiousness are aimless , not trusting , lazy , not punctual , tend to procrastration , and seeking for pleasure . The problem of current study is comparing academic procrationation among university students according to their conscientiousness.
