Fakhri AL-Barody was born in Damascus city in Thirty first of March for 1887 , he affiliated to writers where he learned reading & writing , he got his primary studies sciences in AL-Azareya school , then he transferred into office of Anbr to complete his secondary study in Damascus , after that traveled to France to complete his study , he is politician , military , journalist , poet Arabic Syrian .
He participated in first world war with rank of officer in Ottoman army , he participated many fights against British in Palestine , he was captured & jailed in Palace of Nile in Cairo , after he was released , he returned to Damascus , he was appointed in the royal palace of King Faisal as an officer , he was activity of struggle to liberate Syria from French mandate , he participated in Maysaloon battle on 1924 , later the French army jailed him in castle of Damascus , he was judged and was released , with deterioration of political situations in the country , he was arrested another time on 1936 , he was Exiled with other people to north of Syria , but his exile led to strike continued for sixty days , accordingly the French authorities ceded from its decision , then he returned to Damascus , meanwhile declare of second world war , French authorities accused him that he owns arm so he left Syria to be refugee in the east of Jordan , where he remained there two years , after that he returned to Damascus , and he was elected another time as member in parliamentary on 1947, but he retired from policy work on 1948 , he interested to gather or write Arabian music heritage ,on second of May for 1966 he died , he was escorted by Damascus to his final resting place and was buried in Bab AL- Sagheer Cemetery . |
