| Abstract | ||
| In this work, 2-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-1H-isoindol-1,3- (2H)-dione (2) was prepared from fusion a mixture of 2-amino-5- mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole (1) and phthalic anhydride at temperature 170- 180 °C and then converted into the 2-{[5-(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-2Hisoindol- 2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl] thio} acetic acid (3) through the reaction of (2) with α-chloro acetic acid in the presence of K2CO3. The acid hydrazide was obtained from acid (3) then used for further syntheses. The azomethines (6-11) were synthesized from the corresponding aldehydes and acid hydrazide (5). Moreover, oxadiazole (12) and Synthesis of Some Substituted 1,3,4-Thiadiazoles Fouad M., Redha I. and Araa AL-Juboori 16 pyrazolone (13) have been also synthesized by treatment of above acid hydrazide (5) with CS2/KOH and ethyl acetoacetate respectively. The synthesized compounds were confirmed by their IR and UV spectra. | ||
