| Abstract | ||
| Sewage Treatment Unit (STU) sludge was used as a source of micro fungi for production of Lemon acid (citric acid), one of the important chemicals used in various industrial processes. The isolation of filamentous fungi especially Aspergillus niger was done from STU sludge for better adaptability. Three strains of A. niger were isolated from STU sludge and identified using slide culture technique followed by image analysis. Five strains of A. niger were selected as the best adapted strains in STU sludge. Three of them (S1, S2, and S3) were selected from isolated strains, and another two (L1 & L2) | ||
