| Iraq was and is still the focus of attention of colonial powers which sought to implement the policy of restricting the most important area in the Middle East to its policy and colonial interests. Its territory was the first to be trodden by the feet of the colonizers. In late 1914 British forces occupied Basra and moved later in all Iraq until 1918. Iraqi people opposed, condemned and rejected the British occupation and Mandate. | ||
