Abstract
Abstract The research aims, mainly to assess the performance of the Agricultural Bank by evaluating the performance of policy lending to the bank and politics realizable through the use of some of the criteria and indicators that would give a clear concept of the level of performance reached by the bank in the study period extending from 1998-2008 where he was the review group of data for the purpose of assessing policy lending including a review of types of loans disbursed by the bank according to their terms have been divided into loans, short, medium and long the share of long string is the largest by 917870820 dinars, reflecting the country's direction to establish an infrastructure stable As for the loans granted in accordance with its purpose has occupied loans for the purposes the other the largest share at the expense of loans granted to the equipment of agricultural mechanization and marketing of poultry and other purposes by 717905741. As for the policy to collect the loans, the index of collecting loans rates pointed some increasing in the performance that has been demonstrated in percentages, especially the years 2006.2007 and 2008 by 83% and 86% and 76%, respectively, as far as the index of late loans reached the highest in the year 2004 due to unstable situations by 0.98 from the ratios of loans in that year as to the index classification schedule for the late loans, the year 2004, is the other at the highest rates by 74% of the total late loans. The repayment index has seen is the other up, but can be described slowly. The share in 2008 is larger by 0.20 .some recommendations has been forwarded.
