This research tackles the life of a famous Andalusian figure, who was well known among bibliographists and researchers of being an authority in the fields of medicine and literature; especially the "Mowashahat". Ibn Zahr Al-Hafeed (died 596 H.) was a good doctor just like his ancestors of the Zahr family, from which he derived his knowledge and experience. Moreover, he practiced literary writings and was prominent in it. His Mowashahat were characterized with clarity, elegance, and beautiful rhythm, expressing delicate, passionate meanings related to the Andalusia environment and its charming nature, using images charged with vitality and powerfulness, employing his outstanding skill in personification and imagery building and the result arouses admiration and satisfaction.
His poetic themes vary from flirtation, to wine description, nature and sometimes wisdom, mixing sometimes among them; a thing that made his Mowashahat rich in meanings and imagery, his poems are favored by the common readers and are circulated among singers. |
