Abstract
تركزت معظم البحوث المتعلقة باستراتيجيات القراءة الناقدة على القراءة في اللغة ألام و قدمت العديد من المقترحات العامة لتدريسها. أما النزر اليسر من الدراسات التجريبية (مثل دراسة باجينغ و زملائه 1983 و دراسة سونغ 1998) في هذا المجال فكانت نتائجها متضاربة من حيث أثرها في استيعاب القراءة لدى الطلبة الدارسين للإنكليزية كلغة أجنبية . تعد الدراسة الحالية إسهاما في الجدل المتعلق بأهمية تدريس القراءة الناقدة و أثره في استيعاب القراءة لدى الطلبة العراقيين الذين يدرسون اللغة الإنكليزية كلغة أجنبية. تبنت الدراسة المنهج التجريبي و نظام الاختبار القبلي و الاختبار ألبعدي لتدريس أربع مهارات من استراتيجيات القراءة الناقدة وهي: التفريق بين الحقائق و الآراء, و تشخيص التحيز و القراءة بين السطور و تمييز الدعاية. و حاولت الدراسة الإجابة عن التساؤلين الآتيين هل أن التدريس المباشر لاستراتجيات القراءة الناقدة سيسهم في تحسين استيعاب الطلبة للنصوص الإنكليزية؟ و إن كان الأمر كذلك فهل لهذا التدريس الأثر نفسه في جميع استراتيجيات القراءة الناقدة التي تم تدريسها؟ بينت النتائج أن التدريب على استراتجيات القراءة الناقدة كان له أثر ايجابي على استيعاب الطلبة للنصوص الإنكليزية و أن هذا الأثر شمل جميع الاستراتجيات التي تم استخدامها. و في ضوء النتائج المستحصلة تم اقتراح جعل تدريس استراتيجيات القراءة الناقدة جزءا حيويا من تدريس القراءة في المراحل المتقدمة من تعلم اللغة.Research on critical reading strategies mainly focused upon first language reading and suggested very general instructional guidelines. Very few studies (e.g. Patching et al, 1983; and Song, 1998) provided empirical investigation of the benefits of critical reading instruction with conclusive results. The present study is a further contribution to the discussion on the effect of critical reading strategies instruction upon advanced Iraqi EFL learners' comprehension. It adopts a control- experimental pretest- posttest design. The critical reading strategies taught are distinguishing between facts and opinions, detecting bias and prejudice, making inferences and recognizing propaganda. The following research questions are addressed: "Does explicit training in the use of critical reading strategies improve advanced EFL learners' comprehension of English texts? If so, is the effect of this training similar for all critical reading strategies taught?" The results indicate that training in critical reading strategies has a favorable effect upon the subjects' comprehension; and that the effect is relatively equal upon the four strategies taught. On the basis of the results obtained it is suggested that critical reading strategies should be an integral part of advanced reading instruction courses.
