| شجّع تغاضي الدول الخليجية عن قبول مشروع المياه التركي المعروف بأنابيب السلام، إيران على طرح مشاريع بديلة ترمي إلى تزويد هذه الدول بالمياه العذبة. فأعلنت الحكومة الإيرانية في تموز / يوليو 2000 عن استعدادها لمد خط أنابيب (بري وبحري) يمر تحت مياه الخليج العربي بمحاذاة الساحل الإيراني لينقل المياه من نهر الكارون الواقع جنوب غربي البلاد إلى الأراضي الكويتية. واجه هذا المشروع مشاكل وصعوباتٍ كثيرة أدت في النهاية إلى تجميد العمل به، وتخلي الكويت عن إقامته في تموز / يوليو 2006 ريثما تتاح الظروف الملائمة لإعادة إحيائه من جديد، مع استمرار العمل في بناء المزيد من محطات التحلية المخصصة لتزويد البلاد بما تحتاجه من مياه، نظراً لما تحتله هذه المشاريع الحيوية من أهمية كبيرة لا يمكن للكويتيين الاستغناء عنها في الوقت الحاضر.Arab Gulf States, while neglecting the Peace of Pipeline Project with Turkey, have encouraged Iran to present Substitute Projects aiming at Providing these States with Soft Waters . In July 2000 the government of Iran had declared its Preparations to Set up Land and Sea Pipeline passing under waters of Arab Gulf near by the Iranian Shore to transfer Waters of Iran to Kuwait . This project faced So many troubles and difficulties led to stop it and Kuwait Left it on July 2006 So that suitable conditions might revive it from the beginning. Kuwait was continuing Setting up desalination stations to provide the country with waters and these vital projects are indispensable for Kuwait at present . | ||
