| Abstract | ||
| The following is an example and explanation of the method of characteristics. Once this is explained, it is shown how to be used involving traffic flow like the conservation of cars. From there we explain the elementary model of traffic flow which is used for assumptions and the set up of traffic at a red light. We finish with an example and then the conclusions. | ||
