| Carl Brockelmann is one of most notable orientalists . Although he was voluminous and encyclopedic writer in the field of oriental research(in fact he published more than 500 works ),his well-known achievement was his History of Arabic Literature(GAL) which takes nearly a half century to be completed, since its first issued in 1902. Brockelmann found it is essential ,before any systematical study for Arab contribution to world civilization is to classify a comprehensive bibliography of the Arabic writing materials .This book, soon, occupied its proper place in Oriental research and ,till now, read and re-read with all respect and admiration | ||
