| A field experiment was conducted in silty clay loam texture soil. To evaluate the effect of K Soil application and foliar feeding on growth and grain yield of maize , cv. Bohooth 106. Four levels of potassium 0 , 75 , 100 and 125 Kg.ha-1 were added to soil and the concentration 1000 mg K.L-1 was used as foliar Potassium sulfate (41% K) was used as foliar potassium . Fixed levels of N and P were used for all treatments (160 Kg N.ha-1 and 60 Kg P.ha-1) Urea (46% N) and Triplesuperphosphate (20% P) were used as sources for N and P respectively. Sprinkler irrigation system was used in this study. Results showed that, K-application to the soil and foliar under the sprinkler irrigation and their interaction were significantly affected the plant height , Length of the ears per plant , the number of the rows per cope , the number of grains per cope and the grain yield (Ton.ha-1). The interaction treatment of (125 Kg K.ha-1) to the soil + the foliar feeding with the concentration (1000 mg K.L-1 triple) gave the highest data for the above mentioned characteristics , giving 189.60 cm , 225.3 cm , 1.16 , 17.90 , 44.47 and 13.293 ton.ha-1 respectively. Results showed also , that the same treatment gave the highest data for productivity use efficiency , fertilizer use efficiency and water use efficiency . They were 215.78% , 5.6% and 20.5% for the above mentional characteristics . Therefore, it may be recommended to apply potassium to the soil and foliar feeding to raise the adaptation of plant efficiency against unsuitable drought conditions. |
