Abstract
This experiment was conducted to determine the inhibitory effect of aqueous and alcoholic leaf extracts of Catharanthus roseus and Peganum harmala, and by estimated of chemical results show contain extracts water and the alcoholic leaf extracts all the vital activitty, except (Triterpens , Saponins and Coumarins) and to contain the aqueous extract and the alcoholic leaf on all the vital activitty, tested the antimicrobial activity of the extracts of water and alcohol leaves against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that are positive for the gram stain , and used four concentrations is (0.065, 125, 250, 500 mg / ml) for both extracts and leaves both plants The results showed that the alcoholic extract of both plants the antimicrobial activity, where the direction of the isolation of bacterial inactivation rate was higher than 15 mm. While the aqueous extract did not show any antimicrobial activity for all concentrations except the focus 500 mg / ml for leaf catharanthus roseus. The cytotoxicity test of red blood cells of the extracts of water and alcohol and the concentration of 500 mg / ml, where results showed no toxicity Phones for extractors of water and the alcoholic leaf catharanthus roseus which did not show degradation of red blood cells, while the presence of toxicity for extracts of water and the alcoholic leaf Peganum harmala where showed relativity in the influence on the red blood cells according to the used level.
