Abstract
The study was conducted at the treatment plant for sewage Sadr Hospital in Maysan province for the period from January to September of the year 2011 and studied somechemical characteristics and physical properties of this plant, with a range pH values between (6.5 - 7) These values were the direction of acid, and the values of conductivity electric scored its highest level in the months of April and August 2.8 and 5.02 MicroScimen this increase was concurrent with the apparent rise of the values of dissolved salts in water (TDS) and nutrients dissolved in water (TSS). The study showed a general increase in the values of biological oxygen Demand BOD and that was noticeable during the months of January 'February and April, as was (135, 120 ,102) mg l This is consistent with measurements of the chemical oxygen Demand COD The results showed a rise in the months of January February and April(288,230,232) mg l. The values of chloride ions has recorded the highest increase in the month of April as it was 798 mg l. The study showed the highest concentration of nitrate ion in the months January, Februaryand April, while the phosphate values were higher value during the months of August and April. Note up to the values of sulfur SO4 during the months of study, while the lowest valuefor the concentration of sulfur in the month of Augus
