| Thin films of antimony trioxide (Sb2O3) with different thickness (t=250, 400 and 500 nm) were deposited onto glass substrates by thermal evaporation technique. The effect of films thickness on optical properties were investigated. The optical parameters investigated include transmittance / absorbance / reflectance spectra, band gap, refractive index, extinction coefficient, optical conductivity, complex dielectric constant versus thickness. It was found that the optical parameters depend markedly on the film thickness. The spectral absorption coefficient and optical band gap energy of films at the fundamental absorption region were determined using the spectral data of transmittance measurements in the wavelength range 300-1100 nm. It was found that the optical band gap decreases from 3. 75 to 3.59 eV when the films thickness increase from 250 nm to 500 nm .The transmittance spectrum corresponding of thinner film (t=250 nm) demonstrates that the film was highly transparent(transmittance >85 %) in the visible and near infrared regions. The transmittance of the thicker film (500 nm) decreases to 60%. | ||
