| Abstract | ||
| This study was conducted on laying hens (Isa Brown hubbard ), to investigate the effects of Fenugreek Seeds And Olive Leaves on antioxidant status , reproductive and productive parametres .One day old birds were reared on standard ration till the age of 8 weeks , then divided into 3 groups ( 60 birds / group ) .1stgroup: ( control ): reared on standard ration .2nd.group: reared on standard ration supplemented Fenugreek Seeds(10gm/kgration ) 3rd group : reared on standard ration supplemented with Olive Leaves (10 gm / kg ration) treatments decreased significantly ( p ≤ 0.05) glucose , cholesterol triglycerides,AST, ALT serum levels of laying hens also improved antioxidant status as represented in the increase of GSH level, and the decrease of MDA level significantly in liver tissue. Also, a significant decrease in liver weight % and liver fat % as comared with control. .Also, a significant increase in ovary weight , oviduct weight and length compared with control .Treatments also revealed a significant effect on sexual maturity, 1st egg weight , the weight of the 1st 10 eggs, the time needed to produce the 1st 10 eggs and the improvement of egg production % .In conclusion, antioxidants( Fenugreek seeds & Olive leaves) improved the antioxidant status, reproductive and productive performance of laying hens | ||
