	Effect of laminitis on some biochemical parameters in serum in horse

Abstract
This study was conducted to test the theory of oxidative stress and its role in inflammation of sensitive plates in horses which included examination of 60 horse from local horses in different ages ranged from 4-12 years and both sexes, including 40 horses suffered from signs of inflammation of sensitive plates acute and chronic, and 20 horse of horses normal clinically consider as control group. The results showed that (14%) of the infected horses ranked degree (1) according to the classification of Opel to limp and its ability of animal to walk relatively free, (59%) of the infected horses ranked degree (2) and where the animal was walking hardly and random and (19 %) of horses classified degree (3) and where the animal cannot walk and strongly resisted stand and (8%) of the horses classified degree (4) and the animal cannot movement and swaying back. The results of this study showed a significant decrease (P<0.05) in antioxidants, which included Superoxide dismutase enzyme and Glutathione while observed significantly increase in malondialdehyde and peroxynitrate radical, we conclude from this study that inflammation of sensitive plates affect adversely on antioxidants and this confirms oxidative stress theory and its role in causing inflammation in sensitive plates in horses
