| The aims of this study were to (1) characterize bottled water brands in Iraq and it was evaluated the quality of twenty different of bottled water collected from local markets in goverenments of Baghdad, Mousol, Salah Al-ddin,Erbil,Sulaimania, Duhok and Kirkuk, and comparing the results to the standard specifications for Iraqi drinking water and international standards for the World Health Organization. Evaluation included a study of physical, chemical and microbiological factors of: turbidity , total dissolved solid , pH, total hardness , calcium , magnesium, sodium , chloride , nitrate, sulphate, total number of bacteria and total coliforms. The results showed the concentration of turbidity , total dissolved solid , pH, total hardness , calcium , magnesium, sodium , chloride , nitrate, sulphate, total number of bacteria and total coliforms are (0.10-3.65),(22.5-214),( 7.05-7.65),(79-182),(13-72.7), (1.61-24.(4.3-40),(4.80-14.9),(1.8-6.8),(1-6) respectivly and absence of coliform bacteria in any of the varieties of bottled water. |
