| A field trial was conducted during the fall and spring seasons of 2011 and 2012 , respectirely ,in one of the private fields of mashrou region , 30 km north of Babilon , to find out the response of sunflower C.V, Zahrat Al-Iraq . to three irrigation schedules (7 and 14 days frequency of irrigation and alternative irrigation as well ) and three planting depths (3 , 6 and 9 em ) in a factorial in RCBD experiment with three riplicates . Seeds were planted on raws, the agricultural practices were condueted accordingly . The results indicate that was irrigation interval of 7 days gave the highest mean of number of days from planting to maturity for the spring season (110.41 day ) also irrigation interval of 7 days give the highest mean of seed number /head (1195 and 1785 seed /head ) for both the seasons respectirely , Alternative irrisatian , however , resulted in higher oil yield gm /plant for the two seasons fall and spring (27.21 and 47.66 gm/plant ) respectivity and grain yield in spring (133.5) g/ plant . The depth of 3 cm , on the other hand , shows an elevation of oil yield for fall season (29.22 gm/ plant ) , whereas , 9 cm depth of planting boosted seed number number per head and , grain yield gm / plant (1590 and / head and 115.5 gm/ plant ) for spring season respectively |
