To study the effect spraying iron and zinc on some growth properties and yield of two cultivars of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) IPA-99 and Buhooth-7. A Field experiment was conducted at Agricultural College – Baghdad University, at silty clay loam soil. Requirements of N, P and K were added for the two cultivars. Concentrations of Fe and Zn were sprayed as a sulfates at levels of (0, 50, 100) mg.L-1 at three stages of plant growth, (vegetative growth, boating and flowering). Randomized complete block design was used with three replicates.
Results showed that: All plant parameters of study were increased significantly as a result of spraying Fe and Zinc solutions. The best increment obtained as a result of Fe2* Zn2 interaction for biological yield , grain yield , weight of 1000 grain and number of grain per spike for the two cultivars , Ipa -99 and Buhooth -7 which gave values of (13.39,14.6) , (4.91,5.88) t.ha-1, (47.3 , 45.0) grain per spike and (46.0,51.4) gm respectively. |
