Abstract
A search on the Five chapters, which included the first chapter Introduction Search and importance which has been touched by the history of the evolution of competitions sport disabled at various levels, whether local, regional or international, leading to the establishment of a special session handicapped are parallel, or in the wake of the Olympics on the level continental allocated to sports for the disabled in all parts of the world, and held the Olympic Games for the disabled in the wake of the Summer Olympic Games, in the same host country for the session which is similar to the Olympic Games, but are reserved for people with disabilities, and named former Olympic parallel, held its first session Olympic special handicapped in Rome1960. The Paralympic games second largest sports event in the world, and includes six sets of classes disabilities are entitled to compete in the Paralympics (who have injuries or weakness in the spine on wheelchairs and who are blind or have poor vision Blind and who have learning difficulties and Amputee parties and with cerebral palsy cerebral Palsy and quadriplegia Paraplegics and who are classified under the category autres like dwarfs. Lies the importance of research in the scarcity of historical studies in the field of sports in general and sports for the disabled in particular, but that the participation of Arabs and their achievements at the level of Paralympic games not dealt with historical studies documentation and analysis to the knowledge of the researcher, which prompted the researcher to conduct this study to try to document the history of Arab participation in Paralympic games since Heidelberg in 1972 until Sydney in 2000, and to identify the advanced centers and medals obtained by athletes with disabilities in these Paralympics, in an attempt to give these groups what they deserve honor save bloodline sports which would help individuals with disabilities to increase their confidence themselves and develop their self-concept is positive, as well as encouraging bodies, educational institutions and sports to provide moral and material support and opportunities for all who wish to exercise physical activity, whether at the recreational level and qualifying or competitive. The second chapter handled Historical Paralympic games in terms of residence and years established and states winning advanced centers and the most important events, while included third chapter on the evolution of participation of Arab countries in the Paralympic games since Heidelberg in 1972 until Sydney in 2000 and medals they obtain states Arab participation in different sports and competitions. The fourth chapters deals View and discuss the results of analysis Arab participation and the participation of Iraq in the Paralympics sessions. The fifth chapter included a conclusion and recommendations and most important recommendations were as follows:- 1- Sports organizations should be encouraged to make available to disabled persons more opportunities to participate in sports activities. 2 - States should support the participation of persons with disabilities in national and international events, and courses Paralympic morally and financially provide all possibilities, especially equipment for the Games individual and the difference as you need to finance the material considerably, and that by strengthening and supporting committees Paralympics, federations and its subcommittees. 3- The need to conduct research and similar studies of Arab participation In the subsequent sessions Paralympic sports and documenting achievements for being a history of the States and the heritage of disabled athletes.
