| Abstract | ||
| Ten novel metal complexes of the formula [MLª,ᵇ(H2O)2] , [CrLª,ᵇ(H2O)Cl], [NiLª,ᵇ]Lª=3-[4-Methyl-2-(3-oxo–piperzin-2-ylidene amino)-phenylimino]-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinoxaline-2-one,and Lᵇ=3-[2-(3-oxo-piperzin-2-ylidene amino)-phenylimino]-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinoxaline-2-one, M= Co(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II), have been synthesized by direct method of condensation of quinoxaline-2,3-dione with 1,2-phenylene diamine or 3,4-diamine toluene in presence of metal chlorides as a template . The all metal complexes were identified on the basis of elemental analysis(C.H.N.M), magnetic moments, molar conductance in N,N-dimethyl formamide solution, as well as GC-mass,¹H and C¹³nmr, FTIR and UV-Visible spectra . The results obtained from spectral studies showed that all complexes were octahedral geometry , whereas, the nickel(II) complexes exhibited square planner geometry around the metal ion. | ||
