Abstract
Reaction [HgX2]( X= Cl, Br, I, SCN) with one mole proportion of thione ligand 5-phenyl -1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thione (AH) gave tetrahedral complexes of the type [HgX2(AH)]2. But reaction of [Hg(OAc)2] with two mole proportion of AH in the presence Et3N gave linear complex of the type [HgA2]. Treatment of [HgA2] with two mole proportion of PPh3 or one mole proportion of the diphosphine Ph2P(CH2)nPPh2 (n=1-4) gave tetrahedral complexes of the type [HgA2(PPh3)2], [HgA2(µ-Ph2PCH2PPh2)]2, [HgL2(Ph2P(CH2)nPPh2)] n=2-4 respectively.
The prepared complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, 1H , 13C-{1H} and 31P-{1H} n.m.r. data.
