Abstract
The depression disorder is one of disorders that leave obvious effects on the individual appears in his disorder of thinking , his relations , his social interactions, and his lack of sense of his value in the community and then leads to lack a sense of psychological safety, and this will reflex the abilities of the individual and disrupts energies and potentials needed by the country for construction and reconstruction, it necessary to undertake a scientific study about depression and its relationship with psychological safety to increase our knowledge of the nature of this relationship and to reach effective solutions in order to create a reliable generation, devoid of psychological disorders, so the researcher put the following goals: 1. Identifying the level of depression among the students of the University of Baghdad. 2. Identifying the level of psychological safety among the students of the University of Baghdad. 3. Identifying the relationship of depression with psychological safety among the students of the University of Baghdad. The research sample Included (200) students of university were randomly selected from colleges of the University of Baghdad, depression measure items has been prepared and it has consisted of (43) items, and preparation of psychological safety measure consisted of (40) items, after using statistical methods, the results showed the following : 1.The results of the first goal indicate to the high proportion of middle-level students of the university amounted (59,5%) suffering from depression. 2.The results of the second goal indicate to a high percentage of mid-level too, amounted (61.5%) suffering from lacking of psychological safety. 3.The results of the third goal indicate to the existence of an inverse relationship between depression and psychological safety.
