This study was conducted to investigate the positive role of Matricaria chamomilla flower aqueous extract against lead toxicity in female rats.
In study 30 adult female rats were used and divided into 5 equal groups , The first group was injected with 0.25 mL of distal water intraperitoneally and considered as a control group . The second and third groups were injected with lead acetate 1, 2 mg/kg body weight respectively while the fourth and fifth groups were injected with lead acetate (1, 2 mg/kg) body weight then administration orally with Matricaria chamomilla flower aqueous extract 1 ml for 35 days . Every animals were dissected after end of period of experiment, narcosis by ether , obtained two organs (liver and kidney) which kept in proven solution (10% formalin) to paving preparing tissues sections .
The treatment laboratory rats by lead acetate caused different histopathological symptoms in liver included haemorrhage , degeneration and necrosis of hepatocytes , hyperpigment , enlargement of sinusoids , aggregation inflammatory cells infiltration , congestion of the central portal vein , besides fibrosis .
The treatment by lead acetate caused perfect closed, degenerative and necrosis of proximal and distal renal tubules, acute haemorrhage, hyperpigment of renal cells, contraction glomerulouses, enlargement of space Bowman's capsule to time absence of natural structure tissue, the treatment with flower aqueous extract was improved in histopathological changes of liver and kidney. This study resulted ability of Matricaria chamomilla flower aqueous extract in decreasing the severity of histopathological changes that caused by using of lead toxicity . |
