Abstract:
A field experiment was carried out at the Department of Horticulture and land scape gardening , College of Agriculture , University of Baghdad , Abu Ghraib, in the season 2011 - 2012 to study the effect of different concentrations of boron (0,100.200 mg . Liter -1) and kinetin concentrations (0,20,40 mg. Liter -1) in the productivity and quality of seeds of onion plant (Allium cepa L.) class Texas Early Grano , experiment applied in Factorial experiments within RCBD in three replications , plants sprayed with boron and kinetin three times ( spray before the first flowers blooming and repeat spraying each 10 days) .
Statistical analysis results showed significant superiority of treatment B2 to give a higher percentage of flower setting (82%) and the highest number of seeds in flowers ( 2202 seed ) and the highest weight of 1000 seeds ( 4.156 g ) and the highest total Yield ( 931 kg. H -1) and the highest germination percentage ( 83.7 % ) compared to the least values that were found at the treatment of B0, either the interaction effect has characterized in the treatment of B2K1 which gave highest values represented percentage of flower setting (84%) , the number of seeds in flowers ( 2594 seed ) , weight of 1000 seeds (4.4 g ) , total yield ( 1028 kg. H. - 1) , percentage of germination (87%) , power of germination ( 81.5 ) , bulk density ( 0.668 g . 3-1 cm ), while the lowest values found in treatment B0K0. |
