Abstract
This study was conducted IN Agricultural College – Basrah University , to investigate the allelopathic effects parts of ( Melilotus indica ) weed on germation and growth of tomato Plant. By tow experiments ; Iaboratory and potexperiment .The results showed significant allelopathic effects of seed aqueous extraction of Meilotus indica, on , germination percentage and germination rate. The reduction of percentage compared to the control treatment was ( 49% , 31%) respectively. Also the radical and plumule length of tomato plant reduced of seed aqueous extract of Melilotus indica weed significant . The reduction percentage compared to the control treatment was ( 52% , 46%) respectively. The seed aqueous extract of Melilotus indica weed caused significant effect on seedling dry weight of plumule . The reduction of percentage compared to the control treatment was (40%) .Respecting the results of the field experiments ; root extract of Melilotus indica weed caused significant in hibition in the length of plant , Iength of root growth and leaf number . The reduction of percentage compred to the control treatment was (35% ,63%and 39%) respectively . Dry weight of roots and Vegetive growth of tomato plant were in habited significant by root aqueous extact. The reduction percentage compared do the control treatment was (127% , 54%) respectively .
