	Effect of deficit irrigation on water consumption in growth and yield of potato and holds Solanum tuberosum L

Abstract
Abstract : field experiments conducted in Yousifiya area about 15 km southwest Baghdad latitude 33º 70' 84″ North and Longitude 44º 18' 75″ east, for winter season 2012 in silty loam soil texture classified under great Typic Torrifluvment, The experiment was aimed to study effect of cuts irrigation (deficit irrigation) on actual consumptive use and yield and efficiency of crop water use and some plant yield and attributes under drip irrigation, The experiment was in randomized complete block design (RCBD), in tree replicates, where deficit irrigation treatment (control treatment (complete irrigation) and cut one irrigation at vegetative growth, tubers rise size and composition of the tubers stages randomly on experimental plots. Quantities of applied water were calculated in each irrigation based on evaporation pan (class A) data. Actual crop consumptive use and yield were calculated at end of experiment determined some of growth and yield were measured for potato. Obtained results showed that complete irrigation treatment had the highest water consumptive use 220.9 mm and 211.6 mm for rise size and composition of the tubers stages . Deficit irrigation treatment gives best water use crop efficiency at vegetative growth stage 15.7 kg.ha-1 while were 13 in tubers rise size and composition of the tubers stage. The highest yield was 34.176 Tan.ha-1 while were 27.647 Tan.ha-1 for tubers rise size and composition of the tubers stage .
