Abstract:
A pot trial was conducted in the glass- house of department of soil science and water resources, college of agriculture, Baghdad University in 21-8-2011 , using Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD), The experimental was carried out by using three different soil textures with (control , inoculation with mycorrhizae ( Glomus intraradices), compost treatment, and compost + mycorrhizae treatment), Four replicates. Pots were planted with local variety of millet seeds (Panicum miliaceum L.),and after 10 weeks, plants were harvested. Some chemical and physical properties were determined the results showed: Clay loam soil recorded highest content of organic matter and glomalin were 13.34gm.kg-1 and 3.35 mgm.gm-1 soil respectively, the compost + mycorrhizae treatment gave highest content of organic matter and glomalin were 14.47 gm.kg-1 and 4.29 mgm.gm-1 soil respectively. Clay loam soil was superior in mean weight diameter and geometric mean diameter : 0.729 , 0.287mm respectively . Compost + mycorrhizae treatment was superior in mean weight diameter and geometric mean diameter reached 0.931 and 0.327 mm respectively. the percentage of water stable aggregates increasesd with clay percentage , it reached 10.18 , 12.90 , 14.88 % in loam , sandy clay loam and clay loam soil respectively , while it increased after application of both compost and mycorrhizae individually and interactionally , where the percentage of stable aggregates increasesd from 9.58 % in control treatment to 11.48 , 13.95 , 15.61% in mycorrhizae ; compost and compost + mycorrhizae treatments respectively. |
