| Abstract | ||
| 3-(2-amino ethyl)-2- methyl quinazolin-4(3H)-one (2) has been prepared by heating a mixture of 2-methylquinazoline-4(3H)-oneandethylenediamine 99% for 7hrs. This product was treated with 2- amino -5- mercaptothiadiazoleafforded compound (3). Schiff bases (4-7 (were synthesized from compound (2) and appropriate aromaticaldehydes. Moreover, the reaction of compound (2) with aryl aldehydes and CuCN afforded α-amino nitriles derivatives (8), which on hydrolysis gave α-amino amides derivatives (9). Furthermore these compounds (9) with p-phenylphenacyl bromide gave compounds (10). On other hand the reaction of compound (2) with p-chloro phenyl thiocyanate afforded compound (11) which is reacted with malonic acid and gave compound (14). Also compound (2) with aryl isocyanates afforded compounds (12, 13). Finally the reaction of compound (6) with chloroacetylchlorideandtriethylamine in dioxane yielded azetidinylderivative(15). The structures of compounds were confirmed by their melting points, FTIR, UV., Vis and 'H-NMR spectra. | ||
