Abstract
In order to cope with developments in the field of education, it has become necessary for artistic education, specifically, to develop it’s aims, subjects and instructional programs. This result from organized efforts and the plans designed to provide the learner with knowledge and improve his skills through artistic taste. Moreover, the development also leads to raise the level of the learner and explain his behaviors and directions. For this, it has become necessary to know the cognitive effectiveness of teaching and realize the effect experimentally in developing the performance of the learner. This leads to the problem of the current research which can be summarized as follows: Does cognitive teaching have an effect in the performance of third year’s students of the department of artistic education in the subject of artistic taste? The researcher aims at recognizing: (the effect of using cognitive teaching on the performance of third year’s students in the subject of artistic taste in the department of artistic education for the year 2011-2012). In order to achieve the aim of this research, the researcher put the following null hypothesis: 1- There are no significant differences on the level of (0.05)between the average of degrees of the experimental group that is taught by cognitive learning and the control group that is taught by usual way or method in the subject of artistic taste (Pre Test). 2- There are no significant differences on the level of (0.05) between the average of degrees of the experimental group that is taught by cognitive learning and the control group that is taught by usual way or method in the subject of artistic taste (Post Test) In order to achieve the aims and hypothesis of the research, the researcher had made an experimental design of two samples that has the type of “two independent groups”. The research is restricted on the third year – Department of artistic education/ College of Fine Arts/ University of Baghdad for the year 2011-2012. The sample consists of (30)students separated into 14 and 16 students. The sample has been distributed into two groups: control and experimental. Each group has 15 students. The two groups have been awarded to secure the results of the experiment. A lesson has been designed according to the cognitive structure in order to apply this experiment on two groups. It began on Sunday 9/10/2011 and ended on Wednesday 30/11/2011 per one lecture a day. The time of lecture is 2 hours for each group. The research has discussions of the most important results. The research has also many recommendations as follows: 1- The necessity of using cognitive learning in colleges and educational institutes and centers of continuous education which has governmental and semi-governmental relation and that has relation with civil society organizations. 2- The necessity of making curricula in a way that copes with cognitive learning in colleges and educational institutes. 3- The necessity of preparing educational environment in a way that copes with cognitive learning scientifically and artistically
