| Abstract | ||
| This paper aims at introducing a historical book which has a rare theme and a variety of subjects by the historian Mohammad Bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Sakhawi. Through this book, the historian sought to answer those who attacked and belittled both history and historians. His answer was academically oriented, based on historical and religious evidences as well as examples from poetry and prose. In his book, he presented the concept of history and its expressions. He also talked about the significance of history and its value in life throughout the ages and the purpose behind the classification of his books. He gave a detailed record of the multiple benefits of his book to educated men, the sultan’s attendants and the public due to the relevance of the historical texts and opinions to people’s religious and secular lives. He also recorded an endless sources which have been invaluable to scholars and authors in the various fields of human sciences. The book is an example of the pioneer historians’ statues and the rich variety of their knowledge. In fact, Al-Sakhawi stands as a prominent figure among the giants of History, jurisprudence and Prophetic Tradition. He enriched the library with many books, some of which have been mentioned while introducing of this book. | ||
