Abstract
ABSTRACT
The two speeches concerned in this study are those when Al- Zahra’ was not given her right in Fadak and when she was bitterly sick before her death. They include a lot of religious and political content in a very critical era after the Prophet’s death. This study investigates these two speeches from a pragmatic perspective according to the Speech Act Theory by Austin (1960) and Searle (1969) . It discusses the three levels: locutionary, illocutionary and perlocutionary acts and whether such acts are direct or indirect .
