| Abstract | ||
| This paper discusses the life of the modern American poet Walt Whitman or "the poet of Democracy" as they call him. The paper concentrates on the stages of his life as a man and his career before he publishes his first book (Leaves of Grass) in 1855. The paper also presents his theory about the concept of democracy and what it means, in addition to his philosophy about the freedom of American people and the importance of individualty, equality and self respect in American society. | ||
