| Abstract | ||
| Thirty two acne swabs were collected from different volunteers in Biology Department -College of Science at Al - Mustansiryia University including teaching staff and students. Twenty four isolates were identified as follows , twelve Staphylococcus aureus, six Micrococcus spp, four S.epidermidis ,one E.coli , and one Candida albicans . Staphylococcus and Micrococcus species showed multidrug resistance to penicillin G, amoxicillin, and oxytetracycline and most of them were β- lactamase producers. Minimum inhibitory concentration of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) to S. aureus was 1mgml for all tested isolates , while MIC of polyethylene glycol (PEG) was 4mgml against 40% of the tested isolates and 1000µgml against 60% of these isolates.
