Abstract
The study was conducted to examine the effect of added vinegar to drinking water on performance of broiler chicks. One hundred and eighty one-day old non sexed chicks of Cobb- 500 strain were randomly allocated to four treatments with 3 replicates ( 15 birds each ) . The treatments were; Tc , not supplemented by vinegar (control ), T1,T2,T3 ; added to drinking water 2 , 4 , 6 ml/ L respectively , throughout the experimental period which was lasted for 42 days. The results indicated that treatments T2 and T3 showed high significantly (P<0.01) body weight at five and six week of age . T3 (added 6 ml of vinegar ) had significantly (P<0.01) higher in total weight gain and improved food conversion ratio in comparison with other treatments .Treatment hadn't any significant effect on water and food intake. In conclusion the results showed that the increased amount of vinegar added to the drinking water in current study lead to a significant improvement in broiler chicks performance.
