Abstract
This research aim to study the assessment of the area ideal for farms greenhouse crop of eggplant cultivated by the private sector in the province of Salahal-din by assessing the functions of production costs in the long run, where he was taken stratified random sample of 48 farms with areas of varying numbers of plastic houses and spaces within the donum, and accounted for 12% of the population of the study, and the average area of the actual cultivated by farmers in crop 11.75 don, and the average actual production in the sample amounted to 27.85 tons / don, has been to reach the optimal size of area of 14.377 don and is higher than the actual size of the average cultivated area, and the volume of production optimization achieved 32.337 tons / don is also higher than the volume of actual production for farmers, and also found that 79.3% of farms the sample did not exceed the optimal size of the area and this means that farmers can increase the volumes of their farms down to the size of the optimal size achieved in this study, and 13.7% were operating at the optimum size of production and the area should not be from these farms expansion of the area as far as to maintain this size for both production and space and focus on the technical aspects used in production, and also found that 7% of farms have exceeded the optimal size of area and production achieved in this study because of its farmers to use central heating system, and the fact that most of the farms of qualified professional and scientific, making it less susceptible to fungal diseases and insect species and their agriculture to heavy production. Thus, the net profit is expected for the area of optimal achieved 130,681,000 dinars, while the Total Revenue per acre of 32,337,000 dinars on the basis of the average price of the crop during the growing season is 1000 dinars. The total costs amounted to Total Costs (variable marketing) spent per acre 23,218,535 dinars. Thus, the profit Net π = TR - TC per acre of cultivated crop, eggplant 9.115,000 dinars, and thus we have reached that greenhouse per cultivated crop eggplant farms in province has achieved a net profit 2,278,750 dinars, and this number is important for farmers who looking and profitable viable in this type of investment, backed by the state (credit farmers with loans to buy houses, plastic and without interest) and the short period of production compared to other crops in the lost possibilities of capital, labor, fertile land suitable for cultivation and weather conditions suitable for the cultivation of the crop in this province .
