Abstract
Psychological Weaning is one of the important processes of Psychological growth that parents should work to help their child in achieving it. Unfortunately, sometimes parents unwittingly work to obstruct this growth. They work to impose extra protection or cruelty him and prevent him from doing anything. and this often leads the child to attach his parents , his self-confidence becomes weak with dependent personality .He may be suffered from difficulties in adolescence and its negative impact may be increased more in young adulthood when he take responsibility in work and marriage. The emergence of psychological weaning problem begins clearly in adolescence because of the needs of this stage, which are self-assertion, and confirmation of identity and the need for independence. Adolescents who did not grow up on independence and did not taste of weaning psychological parents cling to much of the qualities of childhood and customs, which include: the inability to abandon the childish link with their parents. Engulfed by nostalgia to the house and to the parents, not endure travel or separation required by the married life. But not limited the impact of non-weaning check on the psychological adjustment of the individual in adolescence but also affects the psychological and social compatibility in subsequent agesTherefore. The current study is trying to determine the level of psychological weaning among the students of the preparatory stage (adolescence medium), for a sample of (480) students of junior high school students in Babylon Government during the year of the study (2012-2013). Since there is no tool to measure the weaning psychological, the researcher has built a search tool. By using appropriate statistical methods.the researcher found the following results: 1. The psychological weaning from mother and father has not been achieved among the students of the preparatory stage. And the proportion of males who are still clinging to the father more than the percentage of females attached to it, while the percentage of females attached to the mother of a higher proportion of males attached to them. 2. There are statistically significant differences in the level of weaning from the mother between males and females .They are in favor of females. The reason for this may be due to the socialization factors that encourage males to independence from their parents more than they encourage females. Thus, the girl may remain emotionally connected to her mother and believes in her ideas and trends itself even after marrying. These findings allowed to the investigator to cite some recommendations and suggestions.
