| Abstract | ||
| The Synthesis of 1, 2 – bis (ortho amino phenyl thio) ethane Ligand (L) from the reaction of ortho amino phenyl thiol with 1, 2 dichloro ethane using ratio 2:1. The ligand was characterized by elemental analysis( C , H , N ) , IR , UV – Vis. The complexes with trivalent ( Cr , Rh ) and bivalent ( Co , Ni , Cu , Zn , Pd , Cd , Hg and Pb ) have been prepared and characterized too . The structural diagnosis was established using IR, UV–Visible spectrophotometer, molar conductivity, atomic absorption and magnetic susceptibility. The complexes of bivalent metal ion showed octahedral geometry around the metal ion with the ( N , N , S , S ) ligand and ( N , N ) ligand coordinated in bidentate mode with the trivalent ( Cr , Rh ) . α, kf for the complexes were estimated too . β for Co – complex was calculated . The study of biological activity of the ligand (L) and its complexes showed various activity toward Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus , E. coli , Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans. | ||
