| The image of Islam and Muslims have been subject to a lot of distortion and falsification and abuse through various stages of history and there is no religion which underwent distortion at the heart of faith and its religious symbols such as witnessed in Islam in its many symbols and various rites at the hands of Western countries, whether by a religious, political institutions or media. For the purpose of comprehending the manner of how to make a distorted and offensive mental picture of Islam and Muslims in the U.S. media, this paper have been written with a systematic and theoretical framework to, firstly present the research methodology and secondly to present the concepts of mental image and stereotypes and the difference between them as well as the methods of media in the formation of a mental image and elements and components of the image of Islam and Muslims and the image of Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him ) and the analytical framework that extracts the most important ideas of the offending symbols of Islam by analyzing the content of the film ( The Innocence of Muslims ), which produced the show in the U.S. to coincide with the events of 11th of September , 2012 leaves the researcher t pose the opportunity to jealous sons of Arabism and Islam to respond to every distorting idea in depicting the symbols of the Islamic and according to the Quran and Sunnah . | ||
