| This study was conducted at Poultry Farm Animal Production Department, College of Agriculture, University of Baghdad, Abu Ghraib, for period from 19/9/2016 to 3/10/ 2016 (42 days). The objective of this study was to determined the effect of adding different levels of tamarind pulp (0, 5, 15, 25 g/ L) to drinking water on productive and some physiological, microbial, immunological traits for broiler chickens. A total of 120 unsexed Ross 308, one day old 41.5 g initial weight were used in the experiment. Chicks were fed on starter diet for the 3 first weeks from age of the bird and finisher diet for the 4 and 5 weeks from age of the bird. Bird was distributed on four treatments, first T0 control group (without any addition), second T5, third T15 and fourth T25 adding tamarind pulp at concentrations 5, 15 and 25 g/ L drinking water respectively. Results showed significant increase in total protein and cholesterol concentration in T5 treatment and not significant differences observed was in glucose concentration, while Significant increase in the number of Lactobacillus bacteria in jejunum for T25 treatment at age 42 days, but number of E-coli bacteria was decrease for all treatments Results also showed no significant differences in H/L ratio, bursa of fabricius and bursa of fabricius Index, NDV-HI titer and pH for intestine, but significant decrease in blood pH in T25 were observed. Conclude from the study that adding tamarind pulp at 5 g in litter drinking water for broiler improved physiological traits for broiler birds, but concentrations 15 and 25 g/ L water did not show any significant differences compared with control treatment |
